The Pinon Eagles basketball team scored 77 points and held the host Valley Pirates to 71 in the Eagles league triumph on Saturday.

The Eagles now sport a 7-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Greyhills Academy for a 2A North contest on Tuesday, January 17. Pinon will meet a Fightin' Knights team coming off a 70-29 league loss to Hopi (Keams Canyon, AZ). The Fightin' Knights record now stands at 0-13.

The Pirates (5-10) will now prepare for their contest against Round Valley (Eagar, AZ). The Elks enter the 2A North game with a 8-6 record. In their last game, Round Valley tipped Hopi (Keams Canyon, AZ), 67-54, in a league game.
