Georgia High School Basketball - Athens Academy holds off Prince Avenue Christian
January 20, 2025: Athens, GA 30606 The Athens Academy Spartans basketball team scored 56 points and limited the visiting Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines to 49 in the Spartans non-league triumph on Monday.
The Spartans now have a 8-10 record. They play next when they host Rabun County for a A D1 Region 8 game on Thursday, January 23. Athens Academy will confront a Wildcats team coming off a 66-26 league win over Oglethorpe County (Lexington, GA). The Wildcats record now stands at 16-3.
With the loss, Prince Avenue Christian falls to 14-5 on the campaign. The Wolverines host Stephens County (Toccoa, GA) to confront the Indians in a AA Region 8 game on Tuesday, January 21. The Indians go into the game with a record of 1-15. Stephens County lost 68-44 in their recent league game against Hart County (Hartwell, GA)
