The Hilltop Lancers (Chula Vista, CA) basketball edged the host Horizon Prep Lions (Rancho Santa Fe, CA), 46-42 in Monday's non-league bout.

The Lancers now possess a 8-12 record. They play next when they travel to Chula Vista for a Freelance bout on Wednesday, January 29. Hilltop will play a Spartans team coming off a 36-28 non-league win over San Pasqual (Escondido, CA). The Spartans record now stands at 16-5.

With the loss, Horizon Prep falls to 9-9 on the campaign. The Lions travel to Health Sciences (San Diego, CA) to play the Serpents in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 28.
