The Ellicott Thunderhawks basketball squad (Calhan, CO), lost 43-23 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Salida Spartans (Salida, CO)

With the victory, Salida advances its record to 10-3 on the year. The Spartans travel to Banning Lewis Academy (Colorado Springs, CO) to meet the Stallions in a 4A/3A Tri-Peaks battle on Wednesday, February 5. The Stallions enter the battle with a record of 2-9.

The Thunderhawks now own a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Mary's for a 4A/3A Tri-Peaks battle on Thursday, January 30. Ellicott will meet a Pirates squad coming off a 44-24 league win over La Junta (La Junta, CO). The Pirates record now stands at 8-3.
