In Friday's league contest, the visiting Tempe Buffaloes basketball team scored a close 65-62 win over the Coronado Dons.

The Buffaloes (9-15) will now prepare for their contest against Desert Sunrise (Maricopa, AZ). The Golden Hawks come into the 4A Black Canyon contest with a 8-13 record. In their last contest, Desert Sunrise was nudged by Cortez (Phoenix, AZ), 69-52, in a league match.

The Dons now own a 7-15 record. They put it on the line next when they host Eastmark for a non-league match on Tuesday, February 3. Coronado will face a Firebirds squad coming off a 71-54 league loss to ALA - Gilbert North (Gilbert, AZ). The Firebirds record now stands at 10-11.
