New York High School Basketball - Moore Catholic overwhelmed by St. Joseph-by-the-Sea
February 1, 2024: Staten Island, NY 10312 The St. Joseph-by-the-Sea Vikings basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting Moore Catholic Mavericks to 36 in the Vikings non-league victory on Thursday.
The Vikings now sport a 15-4 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to St. Joseph Hill Academy for a non-league contest on Saturday, February 3. St. Joseph-by-the-Sea will battle a Hilltoppers team coming off a 62-37 non-league win over New Dorp (Staten Island, NY). The Hilltoppers record now stands at 16-3.
With the defeat, Moore Catholic moves to 12-4 on the year. The Mavericks travel to Maria Regina (Hartsdale, NY) to meet the Tigers in a Catholic - Brooklyn/Queens II match on Sunday, February 4. The Tigers enter the match with a record of 3-5. Maria Regina lost 62-47 in their recent league match against Kennedy Catholic (Somers, NY)
