February 5, 2025: New Brighton, PA 15066 The crowd at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the New Brighton Lions (New Brighton, PA) and the visiting New Castle Hurricanes (New Castle, PA), observed New Brighton's basketball team knock off New Castle by a score of 70-56.
In their next game, the Hurricanes encounter the West Allegheny Indians (Imperial, PA) in a WPIAL 5A 3 challenge, on Thursday, February 6. New Castle will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Indians come into the challenge with a 10-9 record after their 53-49 league loss to Moon Area (Moon Township, PA).
