Virginia High School Football - Franklin County trounces Bassett
August 28, 2025: Rocky Mount, VA 24151 In Thursday's non-league match, the host Franklin County Eagles football squad scored a decisive 44-6 triumph over the Bassett Bengals.
The Eagles (1-0) will now prepare for their match against Salem (Salem, VA). The Spartans go into the non-league battle with a 1-0 record. In their last battle, Salem walloped Glass (Lynchburg, VA), 26-20, in a non-league battle.
The Bengals now have a 0-1 record. They play next when they host Gretna for a non-league battle on Thursday, September 4. Bassett will play a Hawks team coming off a 50-8 non-league loss to Jefferson Forest (Forest, VA). The Hawks record now stands at 0-1.
