St. John Fighting Herald (Ashtabula, OH) boosters left the game thrilled Thursday as they saw their volleyball squad achieve victory over the host Mathews Mustangs (Vienna, OH), 3-0 in a league test.

With the win, St. John improves its record to 3-1 on the season. The Fighting Herald travel to Lakeside (Ashtabula, OH) to face the Dragons in a non-league test on Saturday, August 30. The Dragons go into the test with a record of 2-2. Lakeside won 3-0 in their recent non-league test against Garfield Heights (Garfield Heights, OH)

Next, the Mustangs meet the Pymatuning Valley Lakers (Andover, OH) in a Northeastern challenge, on Tuesday, September 2. Mathews will attempt to upgrade on its 0-4 season record. The Lakers come into the challenge with a 1-4 record after their 3-1 league win over Harding (Fairport Harbor, OH).
