Iowa High School Football - Solon beat Mt. Vernon
September 12, 2025: Solon, IA 52333 The Solon Spartans football team scored 35 points and held the visiting Mt. Vernon Mustangs to 20 in the Spartans non-league victory on Friday.
In their next game, the Spartans face the Benton Bobcats (Van Horne, IA) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, September 19. Solon will attempt to improve on its 3-0 season record. The Bobcats enter the challenge with a 2-1 record after their 42-0 non-league win over Vinton-Shellsburg (Vinton, IA).
The Mustangs (2-1) will now prepare for their challenge against Fort Madison (Fort Madison, IA). The Bloodhounds enter the non-league challenge with a 0-3 record. In their last challenge, Fort Madison fell by Central Lee (Donnellson, IA), 14-7, in a non-league challenge.
