Willow Canyon Wildcats (Surprise, AZ) followers went home pleased Wednesday as they saw their flag football squad edge the host Mountain Pointe Pride (Phoenix, AZ), 3-2 in a non-league match.

The Wildcats (1-1) will now prepare for their match against Sunrise Mountain (Peoria, AZ). The Mustangs enter the non-league match with a 0-1 record. In their last match, Sunrise Mountain was nudged by Desert Mountain (Scottsdale, AZ), 34-0, in a non-league battle.

The Pride now own a 1-1 record. They play next when they travel to Corona del Sol for a non-league battle on Tuesday, September 30. Mountain Pointe will play a Aztecs team coming off a 19-7 non-league win over Gilbert (Gilbert, AZ). The Aztecs record now stands at 3-0.
