Virginia High School Basketball - Amherst County holds off Louisa County

January 12, 2022: Mineral, VA 23117

Fans at Wednesday's non-league challenge between the Amherst County Lancers (Amherst, VA) and the host Louisa County Lions (Mineral, VA), saw Amherst County's basketball squad hold off Louisa County by a tally of 49-44.

With the victory, Amherst County improves its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Lancers travel to Heritage (Lynchburg, VA) to confront the Pioneers in a Seminole challenge on Thursday, January 13. The Pioneers come into the challenge with a record of 5-6. Heritage won 50-31 in their recent league challenge against Liberty (Bedford, VA)

Next up, the Lions confront the Goochland Bulldogs (Goochland, VA) in a Jefferson challenge, on Friday, January 14. Louisa County will attempt to improve on its 0-7 season record. The Bulldogs come into the challenge with a 3-6 record after their 68-26 league loss to Western Albemarle (Crozet, VA).
