The Hibriten Panthers basketball team scored 48 points and held the host Watauga Pioneers to 45 in the Panthers league triumph on Thursday.

The Panthers now sport a 16-1 record. They put it on the line next when they host Alexander Central for a 3A/4A Conference 52 contest on Tuesday, January 17.

The Pioneers (12-5) will now prepare for their contest against Freedom (Morganton, NC). The Patriots enter the 3A/4A Conference 52 contest with a 10-6 record. In their last contest, Freedom was nudged by Ashe County (West Jefferson, NC), 48-35, in a league contest.
