January 12, 2023: Bascom, OH 44809 Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Hopewell-Loudon Chieftains (Bascom, OH) and the visiting Vermilion Sailors (Vermilion, OH), saw Hopewell-Loudon's basketball squad overcome Vermilion by a tally of 48-35.
With the victory, Hopewell-Loudon improves its record to 8-2 on the campaign. The Chieftains travel to Danbury (Lakeside, OH) to confront the Lakers in a Sandusky Bay - River challenge on Saturday, January 14. The Lakers come into the challenge with a record of 9-3. Danbury won 46-40 in their recent league challenge against Gibsonburg (Gibsonburg, OH)
Next up, the Sailors confront the Sandusky Blue Streaks (Sandusky, OH) in a Sandusky Bay - Lake challenge, on Saturday, January 14. Vermilion will attempt to improve on its 3-12 season record. The Blue Streaks come into the challenge with a 2-9 record after their 93-90 non-league win over Ashland (Ashland, OH).
