In Tuesday's non-league test, the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ) basketball squad got by the host Fairfax Stampede (Laveen, AZ), by a final score of 68-67.

Next, the Fighting Lobos clash with the Independence Patriots (Glendale, AZ) in a 5A Central Valley bout, on Friday, January 16. La Joya Community will attempt to move on its 9-8 season record. The Patriots go into the bout with a 11-5 record after their 91-54 league win over Washington (Phoenix, AZ).

With the loss, Fairfax falls to 11-8 on the campaign. The Stampede travel to Carl Hayden Community (Phoenix, AZ) to play the Falcons in a 5A Metro bout on Tuesday, January 20.
