Maryland High School Basketball - Sussex Academy can't hold off Worcester Prep
January 15, 2025: Berlin, MD 21811 Worcester Prep Mallards (Berlin, MD) supporters left the game happy Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad hold off the visiting Sussex Academy Seahawks (Georgetown, DE), 45-42 in a non-league match.
With the victory, Worcester Prep advances its record to 5-1 on the year. The Mallards host Arcadia (Oak Hall, VA) to face the Firebirds in a non-league match on Friday, January 17. The Firebirds enter the match with a record of 6-5. Arcadia won 72-37 in their recent non-league match against Isle of Wight Academy (Isle of Wight, VA)
The Seahawks now own a 0-6 record. They put it on the line next when they host Indian River for a Henlopen - Southern match on Thursday, January 16. Sussex Academy will face a Indians squad coming off a 58-30 league loss to Delmar (Delmar, DE). The Indians record now stands at 0-9.
