Valley Pirates (Sanders, AZ) boosters left the game satisfied Thursday as they witnessed their basketball squad notch a victory over the host Round Valley Elks (Eagar, AZ), 56-43 in a league match.

With the victory, Valley upgrades its record to 9-9 on the year. The Pirates host Greyhills Academy (Tuba City, AZ) to face the Knights in a 2A North match on Tuesday, January 21. The Knights enter the match with a record of 0-11. Greyhills Academy lost 49-6 in their recent league match against Hopi (Keams Canyon, AZ)

The Elks now sport a 11-9 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Safford for a non-league match on Friday, January 17. Round Valley will face a Bulldogs squad coming off a 50-11 league win over Palo Verde (Tucson, AZ). The Bulldogs record now stands at 3-10.
