New Castle Trojans (New Castle, IN) backers went home thrilled Friday as they saw their basketball team thwart the host Greenfield-Central Cougars (Greenfield, IN), 46-37 in a league contest.

The Trojans (10-7) will now prepare for their contest against Tri (Straughn, IN). The Titans go into the non-league contest with a 12-4 record. In their last contest, Tri was topped by Monroe Central (Parker City, IN), 48-40, in a non-league match.

The Cougars now sport a 6-11 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Muncie Central for a non-league match on Tuesday, January 20. Greenfield-Central will face a Bearcats squad coming off a 62-11 non-league loss to Connersville (Connersville, IN). The Bearcats record now stands at 3-12.
