Virginia High School Basketball - Albemarle holds off Western Albemarle
January 17, 2020: Crozet, VA 22932 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Albemarle Patriots (Charlottesville, VA) and the host Western Albemarle Warriors (Crozet, VA), saw Albemarle's basketball squad hold off Western Albemarle by a tally of 44-42.
With the victory, Albemarle improves its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Patriots host Monticello (Charlottesville, VA) to confront the Mustangs in a Jefferson challenge on Monday, January 20. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 4-11. Monticello lost 53-49 in their recent league challenge against Charlottesville (Charlottesville, VA)
Next up, the Warriors confront the Fluvanna County Flying Flucos (Palmyra, VA) in a Jefferson challenge, on Tuesday, January 21. Western Albemarle will attempt to improve on its 11-3 season record. The Flying Flucos come into the challenge with a 5-8 record after their 83-72 league loss to Louisa County (Mineral, VA).
