The Hammond Tornadoes basketball team scored 60 points and held the visiting Covington Lions to 28 in the Tornadoes league triumph on Tuesday.

The Tornadoes now sport a 10-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Fontainebleau for a 5A District 6 contest on Friday, January 20. Hammond will meet a Bulldogs team coming off a 37-33 non-league win over Live Oak (Watson, LA). The Bulldogs record now stands at 12-12.

The Lions (4-8) will now prepare for their contest against Ponchatoula (Ponchatoula, LA). The Green Wave enter the 5A District 6 contest with a 10-6 record. In their last contest, Ponchatoula was routed by Wossman (Monroe, LA), 49-48, in a non-league contest.
