The Pelion Panthers basketball team (Pelion, SC), was overwhelmed 63-20 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Strom Thurmond Rebels (Johnston, SC)

The Rebels now possess a 7-12 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Silver Bluff for a AA Region 3 battle on Friday, January 20. Strom Thurmond will confront a Bulldogs team coming off a 71-14 non-league win over Horse Creek Academy (Aiken, SC). The Bulldogs record now stands at 10-3.

The Panthers (9-8) will now prepare for their battle against Wagener-Salley (Wagener, SC). The War Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 5-7 record. In their last battle, Wagener-Salley trounced Ridge Spring-Monetta (Monetta, SC), 58-17, in a league battle.
