January 2, 2024: Alverton, PA 15612 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Elizabeth Forward Warriors (Elizabeth, PA) and the host Southmoreland Scotties (Alverton, PA), saw Elizabeth Forward's basketball squad wallop Southmoreland by a count of 64-28.
With the victory, Elizabeth Forward upgrades its record to 6-2 on the campaign. The Warriors travel to Laurel Highlands (Uniontown, PA) to play the Mustangs in a WPIAL 4A 3 challenge on Thursday, January 4. The Mustangs come into the challenge with a record of 9-0. Laurel Highlands won 67-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Bethlehem Center (Fredericktown, PA)
Next up, the Scotties play the Belle Vernon Leopards (Belle Vernon, PA) in a WPIAL 4A 3 challenge, on Thursday, January 4. Southmoreland will attempt to upgrade on its 0-9 season record. The Leopards come into the challenge with a 3-5 record after their 40-26 league win over Uniontown (Uniontown, PA).
