The Staten Island Academy Tigers basketball team scored 77 points and restricted the visiting St. Anthony's Friars to 56 in the Tigers non-league victory on Sunday.
The Tigers now sport a 7-2 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Monsignor Scanlan for a non-league contest on Thursday, January 24. Staten Island Academy will battle a Crusaders team coming off a 49-39 non-league loss to Regis Jesuit (Aurora, CO). The Crusaders record now stands at 13-4.
The Friars (9-6) will now prepare for their contest against Moore Catholic (Staten Island, NY). The Mavericks come into the non-league contest with a 2-2 record. In their last contest, Moore Catholic triumphed over Maria Regina (Hartsdale, NY), 52-44, in a league contest.
