Fans at Thursday's non-league challenge between the Cozad Haymakers (Cozad, NE) and the host Lexington Minutemen (Lexington, NE), saw Cozad's basketball squad hold off Lexington by a count of 59-53.

With the victory, Cozad upgrades its record to 9-6 on the campaign. The Haymakers travel to Holdrege (Holdrege, NE) to play the Dusters in a C1 District 11 challenge on Saturday, January 22. The Dusters come into the challenge with a record of 7-8. Holdrege lost 48-40 in their recent league challenge against Minden (Minden, NE)

Next up, the Minutemen play the Schuyler Warriors (Schuyler, NE) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 24. Lexington will attempt to upgrade on its 3-10 season record. The Warriors come into the challenge with a 3-11 record after their 68-26 non-league loss to Lakeview (Columbus, NE).
