In Monday's non-league contest, the visiting Brandon Bulldogs basketball team scored a good 55-36 triumph over the Lawrence County Cougars.

The Bulldogs (14-10) will now prepare for their contest against Northwest Rankin (Brandon, MS). The Cougars go into the 7A Region 3 contest with a 4-7 record. In their last contest, Northwest Rankin was topped by Raymond (Raymond, MS), 43-40, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Purvis Tornadoes (Purvis, MS) in a 4A Region 7 contest, on Tuesday, January 21. Lawrence County will attempt to better on its 14-7 season record. The Tornadoes go into the contest with a 6-10 record after their 52-29 league loss to Columbia (Columbia, MS).
