Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Smithville Smithies (Smithville, OH) and the visiting Austintown-Fitch Falcons (Youngstown, OH), saw Smithville's basketball squad hold off Austintown-Fitch by a count of 40-36.

With the victory, Smithville upgrades its record to 12-4 on the campaign. The Smithies host Norwayne (Creston, OH) to play the Bobcats in a Wayne County challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Bobcats come into the challenge with a record of 12-1.
