Jackson Day Mariners (Charlotte, NC) backers went home thrilled Wednesday as they saw their basketball team triumph over the visiting Carolina International Comets (Concord, NC), 64-7 in a league match.

With the victory, Jackson Day advances its record to 15-3 on the year. The Mariners travel to Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy (Huntersville, NC) to face the Eagles in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A match on Friday, January 23. The Eagles enter the match with a record of 0-9. Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy lost 1-0 in their recent league match against Queen's Grant (Matthews, NC)

In their next game, the Comets confront the NCSSM: Morganton Dragons (Morganton, NC) in a Catawba River 1A/2A/3A contest, on Friday, January 23. Carolina International will attempt to better on its 1-12 season record. The Dragons go into the match with a 2-10 record after their 65-18 league loss to Jackson Day (Charlotte, NC).
