January 24, 2023: Ocilla, GA 31774 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Irwin County Indians (Ocilla, GA) and the visiting Lanier County Bulldogs (Lakeland, GA), saw Irwin County's basketball squad overcome Lanier County by a tally of 61-48.
With the victory, Irwin County improves its record to 9-8 on the campaign. The Indians travel to Cook (Adel, GA) to play the Hornets in a non-league challenge on Friday, January 27. The Hornets come into the challenge with a record of 3-14. Cook lost 55-54 in their recent non-league challenge against Thomas County Central (Thomasville, GA)
Next up, the Bulldogs play the Atkinson County Rebels (Pearson, GA) in a A D2 Region 2 challenge, on Friday, January 27. Lanier County will attempt to improve on its 9-10 season record. The Rebels come into the challenge with a 3-16 record after their 77-20 league loss to Charlton County (Folkston, GA).
