The crowd at Friday's league challenge between the St. Mary's Knights (Phoenix, AZ) and the visiting Saguaro Sabercats (Scottsdale, AZ), observed St. Mary's's basketball team edge Saguaro by a margin of 65-59.

The Knights (5-9) will now prepare for their challenge against Marcos de Niza (Tempe, AZ). The Padres come into the 4A Desert Sky challenge with a 4-16 record. In their last challenge, Marcos de Niza was tipped by Arcadia (Phoenix, AZ), 35-30, in a league challenge.

In their next game, the Sabercats battle the Mesquite Wildcats (Gilbert, AZ) in a 4A Desert Sky challenge, on Tuesday, January 28. Saguaro will attempt to better on its 10-11 season record. The Wildcats come into the challenge with a 20-1 record after their 85-22 league win over Cactus Shadows (Cave Creek, AZ).
