The Newton Rams basketball team scored 71 points and held the visiting South Gwinnett Comets to 54 in the Rams league triumph on Tuesday.

The Rams now sport a 16-3 record. They put it on the line next when they host Grayson for a AAAAAAA Region 4 contest on Friday, January 28. Newton will battle a Rams team coming off a 83-77 league win over Parkview (Lilburn, GA). The Rams record now stands at 13-6.

The Comets (15-6) will now prepare for their contest against Brookwood (Snellville, GA). The Broncos enter the AAAAAAA Region 4 contest with a 8-12 record.
