North Carolina High School Basketball - Providence Grove holds off Southwestern Randolph
January 25, 2022: Asheboro, NC 27205 Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Providence Grove Patriots (Franklinville, NC) and the host Southwestern Randolph Cougars (Asheboro, NC), saw Providence Grove's basketball squad hold off Southwestern Randolph by a tally of 55-52.
With the victory, Providence Grove improves its record to 13-6 on the campaign. The Patriots travel to Jordan-Matthews (Siler City, NC) to confront the Jets in a non-league challenge on Wednesday, January 26. The Jets come into the challenge with a record of 2-11. Jordan-Matthews lost 74-55 in their recent league challenge against Cummings (Burlington, NC)
Next up, the Cougars confront the Randleman Tigers (Randleman, NC) in a 1A/2A Conference 31 challenge, on Friday, January 28. Southwestern Randolph will attempt to improve on its 6-10 season record. The Tigers come into the challenge with a 6-10 record after their 50-46 league win over Eastern Randolph (Ramseur, NC).
