Mercer County Golden Eagles (Aledo, IL) backers were in high spirits Wednesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the host Morrison Mustangs (Morrison, IL), 71-54 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Mercer County upgrades its record to 14-6 on the season. The Golden Eagles travel to Galva (Galva, IL) to clash with the Wildcats in a non-league bout on Thursday, January 26. The Wildcats go into the bout with a record of 1-23. Galva lost 58-23 in their recent league bout against Annawan (Annawan, IL)

Next up, the Mustangs clash with the Riverdale Rams (Port Byron, IL) in a Three Rivers - West bout, on Friday, January 27. Morrison will attempt to upgrade on its 9-12 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 11-10 record after their 62-58 league loss to Rockridge (Taylor Ridge, IL).
