The Effingham Hearts (Effingham, IL) basketball were winner over the host Hillsboro Hiltoppers (Hillsboro, IL), 52-40 in Saturday's non-league bout.

The Hearts now possess a 19-5 record. They play next when they host Newton for a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 28. Effingham will play a Eagles team coming off a 34-33 non-league loss to Mt. Carmel (Mt. Carmel, IL). The Eagles record now stands at 15-5.
