In Saturday's non-league contest, the visiting Stanton Mustangs basketball team scored a big 40-16 triumph over the Lyons-Decatur Northeast Cougars.

The Mustangs (11-6) will now prepare for their contest against Bloomfield (Bloomfield, NE). The Bees go into the non-league contest with a 10-5 record.

In their next game, the Cougars battle the Madison Dragons (Madison, NE) in a non-league contest, on Tuesday, January 28. Lyons-Decatur Northeast will attempt to better on its 7-10 season record. The Dragons go into the contest with a 7-11 record after their 59-20 non-league loss to Central City (Central City, NE).
