West Union Eagles (Myrtle, MS) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Houlka Wildcats (Houlka, MS), 70-55 in a league bout.

With the win, West Union upgrades its record to 21-4 on the season. The Eagles travel to Holly Springs (Holly Springs, MS) to play the Hawks in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 27. The Hawks go into the bout with a record of 7-15. Holly Springs lost 51-44 in their recent league bout against Rosa Fort (Tunica, MS)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Bruce Trojans (Bruce, MS) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 29. Houlka will attempt to upgrade on its 9-13 season record. The Trojans go into the bout with a 4-13 record after their 68-45 league loss to Palmer (Marks, MS).
