Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Giddings Buffaloes (Giddings, TX) and the visiting Smithville Tigers (Smithville, TX), saw Giddings's basketball squad hold off Smithville by a tally of 43-39.

With the victory, Giddings improves its record to 19-6 on the campaign. The Buffaloes travel to Taylor (Taylor, TX) to confront the Ducks in a 4A Region III District 22 challenge on Tuesday, January 31. The Ducks come into the challenge with a record of 12-15. Taylor won 53-48 in their recent league challenge against La Grange (La Grange, TX)

Next up, the Tigers confront the Austin Achieve Polar Bears (Austin, TX) in a 4A Region III District 22 challenge, on Friday, February 3. Smithville will attempt to improve on its 11-14 season record.
