Louisiana High School Basketball - Newman tops Crescent City Christian
January 27, 2024: Metairie, LA 70006 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Newman Greenies (New Orleans, LA) and the host Crescent City Christian Pioneers (Metairie, LA), saw Newman's basketball squad knock off Crescent City Christian by a tally of 65-49.
With the victory, Newman improves its record to 12-10 on the campaign. The Greenies host Liberty Magnet (Baton Rouge, LA) to play the Patriots in a non-league challenge on Tuesday, January 30. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 23-3. Liberty Magnet lost 55-53 in their recent non-league challenge against St. Thomas Aquinas (Hammond, LA)
Next up, the Pioneers play the St. Martin's Episcopal Saints (Metairie, LA) in a 1A District 10 challenge, on Tuesday, January 30. Crescent City Christian will attempt to improve on its 16-8 season record. The Saints come into the challenge with a 17-4 record after their 61-51 non-league win over St. Charles Catholic (LaPlace, LA).
