Fans at Tuesday's league challenge between the Burns Bulldogs (Lawndale, NC) and the host Highland Tech Rams (Gastonia, NC), saw Burns's basketball squad hold off Highland Tech by a tally of 38-35.

With the victory, Burns improves its record to 9-10 on the campaign. The Bulldogs host The Master's Academy (Forest City, NC) to confront the Lions in a non-league challenge on Thursday, February 1. The Lions come into the challenge with a record of 11-3. The Master's Academy won 59-7 in their recent non-league challenge against N.C. School for the Deaf (Morganton, NC)

Next up, the Rams confront the Shelby Golden Lions (Shelby, NC) in a 1A/2A Southern Piedmont challenge, on Friday, February 2. Highland Tech will attempt to improve on its 13-6 season record. The Golden Lions come into the challenge with a 7-10 record after their 52-41 league win over Cherryville (Cherryville, NC).
