North Carolina High School Basketball - Hertford County tops First Flight

January 31, 2023: Ahoskie, NC 27910

Hertford County Bears (Ahoskie, NC) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting First Flight Nighthawks (Kill Devil Hills, NC), 50-38 in a league bout.

With the victory, Hertford County upgrades its record to 14-5 on the campaign. The Bears travel to Camden County (Camden, NC) to play the Bruins in a 2A/3A Conference 15 bout on Friday, February 3. The Bruins come into the bout with a record of 6-12. Camden County lost 64-33 in their recent non-league bout against Perquimans (Hertford, NC)

Next up, the Nighthawks play the Holmes Aces (Edenton, NC) in a 2A/3A Conference 15 bout, on Friday, February 3. First Flight will attempt to upgrade on its 11-6 season record. The Aces come into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 47-39 league loss to Currituck County (Barco, NC).
