The Nelson County Governors tipped the host Dan River Wildcats basketball team by a final score of 50-49 in Wednesday's league game.

In their next game, the Governors face the Parry McCluer Fighting Blues (Buena Vista, VA) in a non-league game, on Tuesday, January 10. Nelson County will attempt to move on its 2-6 season record. The Fighting Blues enter the game with a 8-2 record after their 47-24 non-league win over Rockbridge County (Lexington, VA).
