The Classical Purple (Providence, RI) basketball edged the host Portsmouth Patriots (Portsmouth, RI), 52-48 in Monday's league bout.

The Purple now possess a 5-2 record. They play next when they travel to East Providence for a Division I bout on Thursday, January 8. Classical will play a Townies team coming off a 67-52 league win over North Kingstown (North Kingstown, RI). The Townies record now stands at 5-3.
