Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Hoggard Vikings (Wilmington, NC) and the visiting Ashley Screaming Eagle (Wilmington, NC), saw Hoggard's basketball squad wallop Ashley by a count of 66-33.

With the victory, Hoggard upgrades its record to 13-2 on the campaign. The Vikings host Laney (Wilmington, NC) to play the Buccaneers in a 3A/4A Conference 20 challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Buccaneers come into the challenge with a record of 10-5. Laney won 59-22 in their recent league challenge against South Brunswick (Southport, NC)

Next up, the Screaming Eagle play the Topsail Pirates (Hampstead, NC) in a 3A/4A Conference 20 challenge, on Tuesday, January 10. Ashley will attempt to upgrade on its 8-3 season record. The Pirates come into the challenge with a 11-4 record after their 69-48 league win over New Hanover (Wilmington, NC).
