North Carolina High School Basketball - Union trounced by Lakewood

The Union Spartans basketball squad (Rose Hill, NC), was crushed 64-35 in Tuesday's league battle with the host Lakewood Leopards (Roseboro, NC)

With the victory, Lakewood advances its record to 8-4 on the year. The Leopards host Midway (Dunn, NC) to battle the Raiders in a non-league challenge on Thursday, January 8. The Raiders come into the challenge with a record of 3-4. Midway lost 53-21 in their recent league challenge against James Kenan (Warsaw, NC)

In their next game, the Spartans battle the East Columbus Gators (Lake Waccamaw, NC) in a Carolina 1A/2A challenge, on Friday, January 9. Union will attempt to better on its 5-6 season record. The Gators come into the challenge with a 5-4 record after their 64-21 league win over West Columbus (Cerro Gordo, NC).
