Colorado High School Ice Hockey - Standley Lake defeated by Resurrection Christian
January 7, 2022: Westminster, CO 80021 In Friday's league challenge, the Resurrection Christian Cougars (Loveland, CO) ice hockey team bounced the host Standley Lake Gators (Westminster, CO), by a margin of 7-1.
The Cougars now possess a 3-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Fort Collins for a 5A North challenge on Saturday, January 8. Resurrection Christian will clash with a Lambkins team coming off a 8-2 non-league win over Steamboat Springs (Steamboat Springs, CO). The Lambkins record now stands at 5-2.
The Gators (0-4) will now prepare for their battle against Pine Creek (Colorado Springs, CO). The Eagles come into the non-league battle with a 0-7 record. In their last battle, Pine Creek was ripped by Valor Christian (Highlands Ranch, CO), 13-1, in a league battle.
Game Summary
RCS skating and over all play over powered Stanley Lake and was able to take command of the game early. Power play was at a 50% conversion and was able to get a short handed goal late in the game.
