Virginia High School Basketball - Orange County holds off James Monroe
January 7, 2023: Fredericksburg, VA 22401 Fans at Saturday's non-league challenge between the Orange County Fighting Hornets (Orange, VA) and the host James Monroe Yellow Jackets (Fredericksburg, VA), saw Orange County's basketball squad hold off James Monroe by a tally of 56-51.
With the victory, Orange County improves its record to 7-5 on the campaign. The Fighting Hornets travel to Albemarle (Charlottesville, VA) to confront the Patriots in a Jefferson challenge on Tuesday, January 10. The Patriots come into the challenge with a record of 3-7. Albemarle lost 48-45 in their recent league challenge against Monticello (Charlottesville, VA)
Next up, the Yellow Jackets confront the Brooke Point Black Hawks (Stafford, VA) in a non-league challenge, on Monday, January 9. James Monroe will attempt to improve on its 3-6 season record. The Black Hawks come into the challenge with a 2-5 record after their 89-14 league loss to Massaponax (Spotsylvania, VA).
