King Lions (Tampa, FL) backers went home pleased Wednesday as they observed their basketball team edge the host Spoto Spartans (Riverview, FL), 49-44 in a non-league contest.

The Lions (10-5) will now prepare for their contest against Hillsborough (Tampa, FL). The Terriers come into the non-league contest with a 2-11 record. In their last contest, Hillsborough was tipped by Lennard (Ruskin, FL), 48-42, in a non-league contest.

In their next game, the Spartans battle the Durant Cougars (Plant City, FL) in a non-league contest, on Friday, January 9. Spoto will attempt to better on its 6-7 season record. The Cougars come into the contest with a 5-12 record after their 54-47 non-league win over Robinson (Tampa, FL).
