In Friday's league contest, the visiting Mesquite Wildcats basketball team scored a big 55-13 triumph over the Marcos de Niza Padres.

The Wildcats (8-8) will now prepare for their contest against St. Mary's (Phoenix, AZ). The Knights go into the 4A Desert Sky contest with a 3-6 record.

In their next game, the Padres confront the Cactus Shadows Falcons (Cave Creek, AZ) in a 4A Desert Sky bout, on Monday, January 12. Marcos de Niza will attempt to move on its 7-9 season record. The Falcons go into the bout with a 15-3 record after their 85-16 league win over Saguaro (Scottsdale, AZ).
