In Friday's league match, the visiting East Central Hornets football squad scored a close 28-24 victory over the San Marcos Rattlers.

The Hornets (2-5) will now prepare for their match against Canyon (New Braunfels, TX). The Cougars enter the 6A Region IV District 29 match with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Canyon got by Clemens (Schertz, TX), 24-20, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Rattlers confront the Judson Rockets (Converse, TX) in a 6A Region IV District 29 match, on Friday, October 17. San Marcos will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Rockets enter the match with a 2-4 record after their 48-14 league loss to Steele (Cibolo, TX).
