Mary G. Montgomery Vikings (Semmes, AL) boosters were content Friday as they observed their football squad nudge the host Fairhope Pirates (Fairhope, AL), 28-21 in a league match.

The Vikings (8-0) will now prepare for their match against Baker (Mobile, AL). The Hornets come into the 7A Region 1 match with a 5-2 record. In their last match, Baker tipped Foley (Foley, AL), 41-9, in a league match.

Coming up next, the Pirates confront the Daphne Trojans (Daphne, AL) in a 7A Region 1 match, on Friday, October 17. Fairhope will attempt to upgrade on its 6-2 season record. The Trojans go into the battle with a 7-1 record after their 39-0 league win over Bryant (Irvington, AL).
