Lockney Longhorns (Lockney, TX) followers went home in high spirits Friday as they saw their football team achieve victory over the host Morton Indians (Morton, TX), 66-40 in a league battle.

With the win, Lockney advances its record to 3-3 on the season. The Longhorns host Sudan (Sudan, TX) to play the Hornets in a 2A-2 Region I District 2 battle on Friday, October 17. The Hornets go into the battle with a record of 5-1. Sudan won 50-6 in their recent league match against Crosbyton (Crosbyton, TX)

Coming up next, the Indians confront the Ralls Jackrabbits (Ralls, TX) in a 2A-2 Region I District 2 match, on Friday, October 17. Morton will attempt to upgrade on its 0-5 season record. The Jackrabbits come into the match with a 1-4 record after their 52-0 league loss to Hale Center (Hale Center, TX).
